  21. Sub:    8 cents per FrameWorks word!

  23. Starting with the next issue, FrameWorks will pay eight cents per word to
  24. authors for each published article. This will help FrameWorks to draw enough
  25. authors to fill every 64-page issue with 56 pages of valuable and interesting
  26. technical articles.

  28. If you are interested in writing an article for FrameWorks, please contact Don
  29. Sawtelle -immediately- via one of the addresses listed below.

  31. Given the current FrameWorks design, eight cents per word works out to about
  32. $40 per FrameWorks page; so, if you write a five-page article, you'll receive
  33. about $200 in compensation.
  34.  
  35. Arvid Jedlicka, MADA's Software Librarian, will be helping to produce a new
  36. MADA disk series that will be synchronized with FrameWorks. Subscribers to this
  37. new MADA disk service will receive all source code and other electronic
  38. materials associated with the current issue, plus useful materials beyond the
  39. scope of the FrameWorks issue. Subscribers will receive this disk at the same
  40. time that they receive their FrameWorks issue.

  42. Synchronized publication of source code on disk will free up space in
  43. FrameWorks that was previously devoted to long source code listings. Also,
  44. because MacApp.Tech$ is now available to all MADA members online, much less
  45. space in FrameWorks will be devoted to encyclopedic MacApp.Tech$ listings. This
  46. means we have an -unprecedented- amount of space in FrameWorks to print
  47. technical articles.

  49. Because I just became editor last week, I have to gear this effort up as
  50. quickly as possible in an effort to keep the "March" issue from being -too-
  51. late; so, I'd like anyone who is interested in writing a FrameWorks article to
  52. get in touch right away.
